The School Council meeting takes place on Friday afternoons. Both adults and students find they have equal say in proposing ways to alleviate conflicts, and to set and amend rules concerning their life. We call this system "self-government". It also helps as a mechanism through which disputes and conflicts can be peacefully settled. Children at Moo Baan Dek, however small feel that justice can be done by raising the cases in the School Council's meetings, and having every member of the community decide on the proper punishment which involves no physical harm.
