Natural food for self-reliance

Masanobu Fukuoka, a Japanese natural farmer, philosopher and author of One Straw Revolution, has contributed much for Moo Baan Dek to concretize their co-existence with nature. Since his first visit more than ten years ago, Moo Baan Dek has turned to natural farming. No chemical pesticide or fertilizer has been used. We use compost, and grow some flowers to help keep away some insects that can damage plants, and to attract the ones that help with fertilization. The children participate in farming, and learn to cherish nature. This is a practical way for human beings to learn to live in coexistence with nature, and to feel the importance and help keep bio-diversity.
